A 78-year-old opera fan from Manchester was today given an early Valentine's treat as she celebrated scooping nearly £3 million on the National Lottery.
Kate Buckley was singing from the rooftops on Saturday night when she realised she and her family had won more than £2.8 million on the Saturday night superdraw.
Today, as an early Valentine present, she was serenaded by a professional opera singer as the family syndicate sipped champagne following their seven-figure win.
The great-grandmother and syndicate leader plans to split her share of the winnings among her 11 children, 26 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs Buckley was swept off her feet as Sean Ruane - a professional opera singer who performed in front of thousands of England fans before last August's match against Holland - surprised her with a classical Italian serenade.
