A MAN appeared before Bolton magistrates today charged with the murder of a 61-year-old grandfather.
Abdul Sanad Ganchi, aged 44, of Dijon Street, Daubhill, was arrested following the death of Ahmed Adia from stab wounds.
Ganchi remained in handcuffs throughout the six minute hearing and and confirmed his name, address and date-of-birth.
Ganchi, has been remanded in custody to appear at Manchester Crown Court on February 22.
He also faces a charge of assaulting Ismail Ali Adam, aged 49, of Dijon Street, at the Khawaja Halal Meat and Chicken Centre in St Helens Road on Monday.
Mr Adam is recovering in hospital, but has not been told that his friend is dead.
