LEIGH rugby union went down 21-5 to Aspull as strong winds made life difficult.
A missed Leigh tackle started the rot as it led to a converted try for the visitors, followed by a second shortly afterwards when a handling error presented them with a gift run-in for a score of 14-0.
Leigh hit back with some concerted pressure but paid for a further handling error which gave possession to Aspull to score against the run of play for a flattering 21-0 lead.
Leigh were eventually rewarded when Fletcher crossed in the corner.
Fletcher and Murray were the pick of the Leigh backs.
