BOLTON rugby union second team produced a silver lining for the club on an otherwise frustrating day as they ran riot in a 41-7 victory at North Manchester.
With all the other teams out of action due to the adverse weather, the seconds put on a stirring show.
Bolton took an early lead as prop Dave O'Byrne scored from short range. Stand-off Danny Barlow stepped up to convert.
Within minutes of the restart Bolton broke from deep within their own half following a mistake by the home team. The break culminated with wing forward Rob Killiner drawing his man and popping the ball to supporting centre Dave Hulme who scored under the posts.
The Bolton 10 once again stepped up to convert. Indiscipline from the home side led to a penalty for Bolton. Captain Dave Keech elected to kick at goal and Barlow succeeded to put the ball between the posts again from fully 35 metres.
Barlow went over in the corner for a try and then proceeded to convert his own score.
In the second half they were punished by North Manchester who scored and then converted. But, stirred into action, Bolton responded with a further three tries.
