I AM writing to express my disgust at the way that the proposed closure of Longsight School has been handled by the LEA.
I have been particularly horrified by the "Trial by Newspaper" conducted by Cllr Thomas, and the lack of any information from the LEA as to where our children would go if the proposal goes ahead. My son Alex lost his father last year, and the added stress of him worrying about losing the stability of his school life and friends is affecting him deeply. A seven-year- old should not have to go through this.
Alex comes home every night and asks if his school is closing, and worries about what all the letters mean that he brings home. The problem is that the LEA are not giving me any answers I can tell him.
Alex and his cousin are picked up from school by his auntie. If they are moved to different schools, I would be forced to give up my job, leading to a further loss of stability in my son's life. How much does a seven-year-old boy have to go through? Do the LEA not realise that they are destroying people's lives?
