THE centre of Dutch capital Amsterdam was quiet following England's 1-1 draw with Holland, and just one or two English fans were arrested before the game, police said.
They said the English behaved well and some supporters of different Dutch clubs had been involved in clashes with each other.
Earlier it had confirmed that an England fan was "comfortable" in hospital after being struck by a tram in the city centre late last night.
In England a nationwide police operation had stopped more than 60 suspected football hooligans who were travelling to the match.
Dutch police welcomed the crackdown at ports and airports, which led to many of the suspects already receiving bans from attending matches under fast-track civil procedures.
At least six police forces were involved in the operation and another five Britons were arrested in Holland.
