PUPILS from two Bolton schools are set to welcome athletes to the Commonwealth Games.
Youngsters attending Masefield Community Primary School and Ladywood MLD Special School will perform the official welcome song, "The Mancunian Way", written especially for the Games.
The welcoming ceremonies will take place three times a day between July 16-24 with no two ceremonies being the same.
Sue Woodward, Creative Director, said: "We're asking each school to perform their own interpretation on "The Mancunian Way" to provide variety and colour to the ceremonies.
"We're sure that Masefield and Ladywood Schools will have lots of fun being part of these events and they will give our visiting teams a warm welcome."
Masefield Community Primary School and Ladywood MLD Special School are the only schools selected from Bolton education authority.
The children will join schools from each of the North-west's 21 other local education authorities and a group from Manchester.
