TRAFFIC police are trying to trace the relatives of a 44-year-old pedestrian who is fighting for his life following an accident.
They are unsure what the man's real name is but believe he is called Alan James Board, Alan James Robinson or Alan Robert Robinson.
He was crossing Bradford Street near to the junction of Bromwich Street in The Haulgh when he was injured in a collision with a car and suffered what was believed to be a minor cut to his head.
The injured man was taken to the Royal Bolton Hospital following the accident just after 8pm on Wednesday.
His condition deteriorated and he was transferred to Hope Hospital where he has undergone surgery on the head injury.
The man was in a critical condition at the intensive care unit.
The driver of the Ford Fiesta, Frank Boardman, aged 80, from Green Way, Hall i'th' Wood, suffered minor injuries to his hands.
Police say Mr Board/Robinson is white and lives at 30 Bromwich Street.
Sgt Barry Fairclough from Bolton said: "We are asking anyone who knows the injured man to call us or the hospital.
"We have spoken to witnesses and people who live nearby but they do not know where his relatives live."
Anyone who can help should call the Bolton Traffic Unit on 0161 856 5972.
