STEVE Banks is due back at the Reebok this week after spending the last two months on loan at Rochdale.
But Dale boss John Hollins is hoping to keep him at Spotland for a further month after being impressed by the Wanderers' keeper.
Dale's first choice Neil Edwards is not fully fit following recent knee problems and Hollins says: "He hasn't played a match yet and I'd rather get him fully fit than risk him. That's why we need Steve Banks."
But Wanderers may need Banks back as cover for Jussi Jaaskelainen and Kevin Poole after Jani Viander's decision to join Stoke City.
