Horwich Town Council has launched its annual In Bloom competition.
It is hoped the popular gardening contest will be bigger and better than ever this year to coincide with the Commonwealth Games.
Horwich Town Council is offering purple and yellow plants free of charge to anyone who would like to create a display which can be seen from the road as the official Games colours are purple and yellow.
The BEN will provide an engraved rose-bowl for the winner of the competition, but there are also plenty of other prizes on offer.
For further information call the town clerk Linda Challender on 338900.
