ON January 21, I printed a story about someone at the Royal Bolton Hospital who had come across in the lost property section a 1905 medal inscribed "F. Leather", and she was trying to find the owner.
As far as I know, not much luck with that one, but I did receive a letter from Mrs Elsie Heveran, of Red Lane, Breightmet, who tells me that she has her grandfather's 1914 medals. "I used to love polishing them, and every week I used to pay a visit to the Vets. Club with him," she tells me.
