A SCAFFOLDING firm is hoping to bring a mini-jobs boom to Bolton.
Bosses at Four Square Scaffold Supplies has bought new machinery which will allow them to tackle jobs previously out of their reach.
Previously, any jobs which required employees to gain access to high points had to be turned down if the company could not hire a suitable machine.
But, now, Four Square has the capability to take on work and see it through from beginning to end.
Owners, the Settle family, hope it will mean an increase in employment, adding to the 40 people who currently work there.
Four Square is already one of the North-west's biggest scaffolding firms.
It is managed by husband and wife team Bert and Pat, the non-executive directors.
Their sons, Paul and Adam, together with long-term employee Chris Maddock, are the executive directors.
The company has completed contracts for Middlebrook Retail and Leisure Park, ICI, Railtrack, The Designer Outlet at The Lowry, Manchester Airport and the Reebok Stadium.
Safety netting now makes up a large percentage of business for the firm.
Adam Settle said: "Diversifying into this market has proved to be an extremely good move."
Four Square was established in 1985, masterminded by Bert who has been working in scaffolding since 1969.
Mr Settle added: "The key to our success has been the determination and drive to stay one step ahead of the competition.
"The new machinery we have purchased will help us in the future."
