THE pressure is on for Bolton smokers to stub out their cigarettes for good as top sports stars back a Europe-wide campaign.
Health ministers and deputy ministers from 47 countries have attended the Warsaw conference on a tobacco-free Europe run by the World Health Organisation (European Region).
England rugby star Austin Healey and athlete Kelly Holmes are supporting the tobacco-free Europe campaign.
In the UK alone smoking causes 120,000 deaths a year and costs the NHS £1.7 billion.
