AN abseiler fell and dislocated his knee as he was going over the edge of Anglezarke Quarry in Rivington.
Stephen Starkie, aged 23, from Wythenshawe, was with four friends when he slipped at 11.45am yesterday.
Bolton Mountain Rescue Team went to his rescue along with paramedics and the North-west air ambulance.
Mr Starkie's friends had helped him down to the bottom of the quarry. He was given pain-killing gas and taken to hospital in Chorley on a mountain rescue stretcher.
