PRIMARY school children in Horwich enjoyed being "energy angels" as part of an educational project.
The bright sparks from Claypool Primary School, in Salisbury Road, were only too happy to help British Gas launch this year's Think Energy initiative in the area.
The scheme has children taking part in "green" lessons and carrying out an efficiency audit of their homes to help reduce the £5 billion worth of energy wasted in the UK every year.
Think Energy, supported by the Government's Year of Science, aims to empower more than one million children in 11,000 primary and secondary schools to learn about energy and how to conserve it responsibly.
Teacher Jenny Higson, from Claypool Primary School, said: "Parents, staff and children thoroughly enjoyed the interesting activities and tasks included in the Think Energy packs.
"Everyone especially liked the room thermometer, finding it fascinating to discover the temperature of rooms at home and in school and thinking how savings can be made."
