DID you leave Church Road School, Bolton, in 1953/4? Or Whitecroft Road School in 1957/58?
If so, are you an either of these photographs? A reunion is being organised, at Mortfield Bowling and Social Club, off Chorley Old Road, Bolton, on Saturday, February 2 (8pm until 11.30pm), and refreshments will be available.
If any teachers are still around, or anyone else from either year at either school, including the girls, you will be very welcome. You can get further details from Jack Worsley (for Church Road) on Bolton 492716, or Gary Whitehead, for Whitecroft Road, on 01942 812933.
Incidentally, I am told by Jack Worsley that among those who have already said that they will attend the reunion are Lord David Burgum (Blosh to everyone who knew him!), Gordon Glover, Michael Jimmy Service, Billy Cunliffe, Robert Harwood, Gordon Ainsworth, Jack Chamberlain, and the girls Hilary Nolan, June Taylor, Freda Bowling, Christine Smith and Yvonne Clarkson. "Some of these pupils formed a pop group called 'The Cotton Pickers'," writes Mr Worsley. "They appeared on Opportunity Knocks in the late 50s, and have promised us a blast from the past on the night."
I'm sure you will have a good time, reminiscing . . .
