BOLTON Under 15s Greater Manchester Schools' County Cup quarter final tie against Manchester has been put back to March.
The two teams were due to meet this weekend but the game has had to be put on hold due to Manchester's commitments in the English Schools' Wizards Trophy.
The Manchester lads have reached the quarter finals of the national inter association competition and are due to travel to North Tyneside on Saturday, March 2.
Their manager is also team boss of Greater Manchester Under 19s and they are set to travel to the North East to take on Durham in the semi finals of the Northern Counties competition on Saturday.
Manchester. therefore, will not be able to meet Bolton until Saturday, March 9 at the earliest which means that the semi finals, which were scheduled for next weekend will have to be postponed until later in the season.
Greater Manchester Schools' official Alan Smith said, 'It's a shame that we have to put back the semi finals but we have to take into account Manchester's national cup bid. We are all hoping thay do well in that competition."
Greater Manchester Under 19s have a double incentive to clinch victory in the North East next weekend.
The county's senior schoolboy side have fared well throughout this season and a win will put them into the final of the Northern Counties, where they will come up against arch rivals Merseyside.
And victory at Durham will also secure them a quarter final spot in the national Premier League Trophy, which is due to start in March.
