BOLTON swimmers are being recruited to swim the English Channel for charity.
But instead of plunging into the freezing sea for a 22 hour non-stop marathon the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign wants people to try out the challenge in the warmth and comfort of their local swimming baths.
Swim for Life 2002 gives people all year to swim 22 miles, the distance across the channel, in stages and in the process raise funds for the charity.
