THE Kirklees Trail in Bury is about to be upgraded.
To match up with the standards created over the southern half of the trail, work will begins next Monday at the northern end, between Laurel Street and Brandlesholme Road.
Once completed it will make the right of way even more accessible and suitable not only for pedestrians, but also for cyclists and horse riders.
Bury Metro's Executive Member for Environment and Transport, Councillor Julie Higson, said: "Thanks to a grant awarded through the North West Development Agency we can invest a further £82,000 in improvement work."
