A PENSIONER fears a wall which has not been repaired since it was partly knocked down in a fatal road crash could lead to someone being seriously injured.
Two people were killed when four cars were involved in a collision on Bury Road in Breightmet last November. And in the crash the wall in front of the Co-op Lateshop was knocked down.
Next door neighbour Florence Oliver, aged 76, says the firm still has not repaired the wall even though it could fall on top of a passing pedestrian.
"It is in a state of collapse and is very dangerous. A lot of people walk past it and I am afraid that someone could be injured.
"My wall was also damaged in the crash but I can't repair mine either until they have done the work because it provides the foundations.
The accident happened last year at the junction of Bradford Street and Bury Road.
Mohammed Patel, aged 34, of Auburn Street, Daubhill, and Christopher Robinson, aged 25, of Haseley Close, Little Lever, died in the incident.
Mr Robinson's fiancee, Claire Hamer, aged 24, suffered serious leg injuries in the accident.
A spokesman for United Co-op said: "Work is going to start in the next two to three weeks to replace the wall. There has been a delay which we regret but I believe there was some doubt over the ownership."
