MORE than 170 platform and ticket staff in a moderate rail union are to strike for the first time in 30 years.
Members of the Transport Salaried Staff Association (TSSA) working at Arriva Trains Northern will stage a two-day walkout over pay in March. The union is in dispute over a three per cent pay rise, while drivers will receive 18 per cent. The strike will coincide with a stoppage by RMT.
