AFTER reading the article "Seeing red over bull fighting" in the BEN on February 16, I would like to applaud Lindsay Hoyle MP for his efforts in stopping bull fighting in Spain.
I can assure him that many letters and postcards have been sent to the Spanish Government through IFAW (International Fund for Animal Welfare).
I cannot understand how the Spanish people, or any other nationality can condone this type of atrocity. How can they call it sport or entertainment? How can they enjoy watching an animal being tormented and killed, not quickly, but slowly?
I can't understand, and I find it sickening and barbaric.
The thousands of people who pay to watch this barbaric scene must be mindless, heartless, and the most unfeeling people on earth.
It seems that animal cruelty goes on all over the world, even in our own country. I sincerely hope Lindsay Hoyle succeeds in getting this barbaric atrocity stopped.
Once again Lindsay, congratulations on your endeavours.
