MEMBERS of the Bolton Kashmir Welfare Association are urging MP Brian Iddon to push for action over the troubled region.
They have sent him a petition calling for world leaders to put pressure on the governments of India and Pakistan to resolve their differences over Kashmir.
The association wants a committee set up to include representatives from the UN and five other countries who will concentrate on solving the region's problems.
Sardar Ayub Khan, organiser of the Bolton branch, said: "Many of our members have relatives in Kashmir and we just want someone to take responsibility for the problems there. We would like Mr Iddon to do what he can to support us." The Bolton South MP has in the past met the group at the House of Commons to discuss issues affecting Kashmir residents.
