A PLUCKY supermarket customer has braved a bald spell to raise money for a good cause.
Mandy Cooper was keen to help raise £10,000 for the Children's Hospital Appeal Trust's bid to equip an ambulance.
She took part in a sponsored headshave at Asda in Horwich and raised £100.
Staff at the Asda at Middlebrook have been working hard to raise funds for the cause along with customer Pamela Stuchbury who lost her son Andrew in a hit and run accident in October 2000.
Thanks to the team's efforts on Saturday, which raised a total of £400, the staff is now a third through its fundraising aims.

General store manager Andy Davies said: "We have all been working hard to help Pam raise the money which will equip an ambulance in memory of her son Andrew and are very grateful for the support of the store's customers, but we were amazed when Mandy made the suggestion that she was prepared to lose her hair for the cause."
