PAUL Ablett believes there is no mountain he cannot conquer.
Which is why he is climbing the equivalent of Mount Everest to raise money for the National Asthma Campaign, and beat the current world record while he is at it.
Paul, aged 29, is a health and fitness consultant at Bolton Arena and on February 27 will be climbing 29,028 feet -- the height of Everest -- on a gym-based Versa Climber.
He explains: "The equipment basically mirrors the climbing activity. It is used in NASA to train astronauts and it's also made an appearance in the Rocky 4 film when Dolf Lundgren worked out on it.
"I'm going for the Guinness World Record. The current one is six hours but there's an unofficial one of four hours and 22 minutes.
"I'm aiming to finish my climb in under that time."
Paul says he has trained extremely hard and is determined to raise as much money as possible.
"I've chosen the Asthma Campaign because I used to suffer from it as a child. Now, because I'm so fit and healthy, I want to do something for others."
Anyone can sponsor Paul and there is also a raffle being held at the Arena with prizes of a signed Bolton Wanderers shirt and signed Wigan Rugby League shirt.
Paul will have company on the "climb" from fellow fitness consultant, Mat Elliston who is going for two UK records on the same equipment.
