THE report in the BEN on February 13, tells us that out of 981 takeaways, catering companies, and restaurants, 489 failed hygiene tests that the Food Standards Agency set to ensure food safety in Bolton.
I wonder if it is against the law to publish the names of the owners and the location of the offenders. If not then the FSA should make the findings public through the press, so these dirty outlets could be avoided. After all, the consequences of food contamination can be really serious.
The 492 outlets that have passed the stringent tests could be awarded a certificate to display proudly in their shops etc. Customers would then have a true picture of food hygiene.
