A CANCER patient has inspired hundreds of Bolton people to raise money for The Christie Hospital.
Debbie Worthington, in remission from the lymph cancer Hodgkin's Disease, organised a series of fund-raising walks in Rivington.
She has already brought in more than £21,000 for the North-west cancer hospital following the sponsored events last year.
Debbie, who lives in Aspull, has strong links with Bolton where many of her friends and family live.
She organised the last walk in memory of her aunt, Sallie Hedley, who died from lung cancer last year.
Part of the money raised will support the lymphoma research fund headed by professor John Radford.
Christie Hospital deputy appeals director Toni Leden said: "Fighting cancer is complex and expensive and needs public support."
The next fund-raising walk is in Rivington on August 4.
