BRAVE paramedics Dave Cook and Brenda Moody were honoured for their daring rescue attempt at the Moat House fire last April.
They received special commendations for their courageous actions when fire ripped through the Bolton hotel, killing two pensioners.
A special ceremony was staged by the Greater Manchester Ambulance Service at the Reebok with Duncan Lawton, Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, presenting the medals.
Sean Brady, from Ramsbottom, and Colin Barber, from Radcliffe, were awarded special commendations for treating a woman who was shot in the neck when they attended an incident in Prestwich.
A GMAS spokesman said: "The awards ceremony was a very enjoyable evening for all involved. It was a real pleasure for everyone in the ambulance service to honour long serving members of staff and those who have gone above and beyond the call of duty while helping patients."
Bolton ambulance staff were also honoured with long service and good conduct awards at the ceremony.
These included ambulance technician Alan Ainsworth, from Horwich; ambulance paramedic Vanessa Elliot, from Breightmet; ambulance paramedic Malcolm Hollinworth, of Bromley Cross; operational trainer Peter Idle, of Horwich; ambulance paramedic Phillip Ogden, from Radcliffe; ambulance technician Peter Smith, of Over Hulton; and ambulance paramedic Patricia Urmston, from Tyldesley.
