Schools Soccer by GRAEME HOLLINSHEAD: BOLTON Under 15s face a tough test when they take on local rivals Bury in the quarter finals of the North West Alder Cup at the Derby School next Saturday.
The town team have had a difficult season so far but they made it into the quarter finals of the Alder Cup after their opponents Rossendale withdrew from the competition.
Bolton followed that with their first win of the season - a 4-1 victory against Wigan in the Greater Manchester Schools' League - but they came unstuck in their next match when they went down 3-1 to Bury in another league match.
Bolton will be keen to avenge that defeat but they will find the going tough against a resolute Bury side who have won three of their last four games.
They beat Blackpool 2-1, followed that with a 6-4 extra time win against South Ribble in the first round of the Alder Cup, suffered a 4-1 defeat against Trafford in the Greater Manchester Schools' League and then beat Bolton 3-1 in the same competition on February 9.
The full quarter final draw is: Salford v Oldham, Chorley or Trafford v Blackburn, Wigan or St. Helens v West Lancashire or Mid Cheshire, Bury v Bolton.
The quarter final draw in the Under 14s North West Woodward Trophy is: Sefton v Blackpool, Warrington or Wigan or Kirkby v Stokcport or Liverpool, Blackburn or Wirral v Preston or South Ribble, Trafford v Salford.
