A PARTIALLY sighted schoolgirl is appealing for someone to return her missing glasses.
Canon Slade pupil Samantha McGuffie, aged 12, lost her specially-made spectacles when she was out with a friend on Saturday afternoon.
She last had them with her when she went swimming at the Water Place on Trinity Street, but thinks she might have lost them there or while shopping in town afterwards.
Samantha, who suffers from a hereditary eye disorder, hopes to have the silver-framed glasses back when she makes a singing debut on stage at the Albert Halls on Saturday in a charity fund-raiser.
The event will be used to collect cash for the Mayor's charities, which are the Christie Hospital and Bolton Hospice. Samantha's mother Julie, who lives in Over Hulton, said: "They are a very special pair with silver frames and are no good to anybody else." Samantha has also lost a special bus pass that shows drivers she is partially-sighted. Anyone who can help should call 01204 64147.
