OWNERS of unwanted vehicles in Leigh, Atherton and Tyldesley, can to dispose of them safely and free of charge during March.
An amnesty organised by the Wigan and Leigh Community Safety Partnership means motorists can take their cars and vans to Delph Garage, Billinge Road, Pemberton.
Alternatively, vehicles can be collected, for a £20 fee, by calling 01942 214878.
Cllr Tom Sherratt, deputy leader of Wigan Council said: "Dumping unwanted cars is illegal, dangerous and irresponsible so if you've got a vehicle you don't want, now is the time to get rid of it. All you need is registration documents as proof of ownership."
The amnesty follows the announcement of a fast track scheme by the council and police aimed at tackling the scourge of abandoned vehicles in the borough.
