YOURI Djorkaeff arrived at the Reebok in a blaze of glory, the second World Cup winner in history to sign for Wanderers, following in the illustrious footsteps of Roger Hunt - 'Sir' Roger as he was referred to at Burnden Park.
And here is the proof with the hero of England's 1966 Wembley triumph over West Germany getting to grips with a certain Oxford United defender by the name of Ron Atkinson, who was known to dish out a bruise or two in his time.
It was September 26, 1970, the venue was Burnden, of course, and for the record Wanderers were beaten 2-0 on their way to being relegated from Division Two.
Hunt, who joined Wanderers from Liverpool for £32,000 in December 1969, went on to make 84 appearances in Bolton colours, scoring 25 goals before retiring in 1972 to concentrate on his family haulage business in Culcheth.
Atkinson then went on to win fame, fortune and respect as one of the most colourful characters in football management and TV punditry.
