BOLTON theatre-goers are set to have the last laugh this week thanks to a programme of events that displays perfect comic timing.
The Bolton Octagon has drafted in a series of comic one-nighters into the gaps between productions -- and they are certain to bring a smile to most people's faces.
And in addition to the Octagon, next week also sees the visit of one of the country's rising stars of comedy to the Bury Met.
The Octagon's comedy nights begin tomorrow with a visit from Pam Ayres. She discusses "Words, Wit and the Wonderbra". The following night Steve Steen performs in an adaptation of Bill Bryson's Notes From a Small Island.
Stand-up comedian Ross Noble appears at the Octagon on Friday, and Jeremy Hardy finishes the run of comedy nights on Saturday.
Young comic Danny Bhoy appears at The Met in Bury on Thursday.
A spokesman for the Octagon said: "Yes . . . we do comedy. It is something we have striven to bring to the theatre over the years. And comedy is also well represented in our programme of events."
Here the Bolton Evening News talks to a few of the funny men who hope to leave Bolton's audiences laughing.
