I WOULD like to comment on TV standards.
I am a pensioner. First on football. I cannot understand why my beloved Coronation Street was taken off the other night in order to show a game of football that only Liverpool people generally would be interested in.
Yet when an England football game is being played, the FA bows down to Sky TV, and, if you cannot afford Sky, you miss the national team, when I believe on that occasion the game should be on BBC or ITV1. Also I would like to inform people that in Germany, for example, the national football team is on free TV and also play in all the country's football stadia.
It seems unfair again when we in the north are stuck with Wembley only (as was and as will be). Secondly, I say there is not enough laughter on TV. Who is there now who is really funny, I mean really funny, like the late great Les Dawson?
