WE would like to thank all the people who voted Bolton Town Show Dog Show, held in conjunction with Bolton Show, Leverhulme Park, held annually in August, the best open dog event held in the UK (BEN: February 13).

The event, hosted by the Pet Hole Trust Charity, Golden Bone 2001 Canine Oscars, was truly a night to remember.

Thanks go to Bolton Metropolitan Borough Council Leisure Services, the many people who help out in the running of the dog show, and all the spectators who attend the show, without whose support it would not be the successful event that it has become.

May we also thank Bolton Wanderers FC, especially Andrew Dean at the Commercial Department, for their generous donation of a signed football, which was raffled on the evening, along with many other prizes, to raise funds for the Pet Hole Trust, a charitable organisation which donates the proceeds from this event etc to various pet-related organisations.

This annual "Golden Bone" awards dinner promotes the positive side of dog ownership, and to this end the Pet Hole Trust strives to improve the lives of disabled people, PAT Dogs, who visit patients in hospitals and care homes, and dogs who do jobs of work, as well as TV star dogs and animal programme presenters.

Once again, many thanks for enabling us to win this award.
