IN reference to First Manchester selling their garage and supposedly building a new one in Weston Street.
Firstly, they have told us their intentions of selling their current garage and what their views on the building are, but what about the new garage? They have not submitted any plans to the council for the new building, they have not said if it is going to be either the same size or bigger and what the effect is going to be on their bus services.
In my opinion, I feel that this is their easy way of getting out of Bolton, just like Stagecoach Ribble did when they sold their garage to Lancashire United.
Over the past couple of years the Bolton garage has not received any new buses, we have received either left-overs or second hand buses from all the First Bus depots across the country. Another indication is that they have not revealed anything about the supposedly new garage. Also, you just need to look at what they have done to their services in Bolton - they are only on a handful of services now and the other services have had to be taken over by either Blue Bus, Lancashire United or Vales of Manchester.
If they do intend to stay in Bolton, what are their plans -- are they going to build a bigger garage, are they going to be more user friendly, with more services and more reliability? So come on First Manchester, please let us know what you are really up to.
A concerned bus user.
