MEMBERS of the Royal Northern College of music Jazz Orchestra make their first appearance outside the college for two years in Horwich.
The talented young musicians will be appearing at the Swing Suite at Horwich RMI Club, Chorley New Road, on Sunday, March 10.
The afternoon concert will begin at 1pm, and tickets, £6.50 and £5.50 concessions, are from 01204 468911.
The show follows the appearance of the Lancashire Students Jazz Orchestra which featured vocalist Victoria Hesketh under the musical direction of Stuart Grills.
A well received programme included Victoria's rendition Peggy Lee's Fever and Rainy Night in Georgia.
Orchestrated versions of a variety of well known tunes were also featured.
Other appearances at the Swing Suite are set to include visits by Mark Gillbanks and his orchestra on April 7, and The Wigan Jazz Orchestra on April 14.
And there is more of that jazz on Tuesday, March 12, at the Mill at the Pier, Wigan, 8pm. The date sees the return of pianist Shelly Berg, backed by Bobby Worth on drums and Dave Lynane on bass all from Los Angeles.
Tickets, £8 and £7 concessions (£6 members), are from 01942 243974, 01925 727408, or 01695 627577. Or e-mail wigan.jazz@virgin.net
