A COUNCIL-run residential home for older people with dementia has been honoured with a prestigious national award.
The Heathside Dementia Care Home in Plank Lane, Leigh, has been presented with the Government's Charter Mark.
In winning the award, the home has become the first residential home serving people with the condition and the only local authority owned premises to ever receive the recognition.
