I HAVE used public transport for 42 years and of late I cannot work out how they arrive at bus fare prices.
I get on the bus in Broad o'th' Lane, and a fare to town is 34p.
On Monday morning I boarded a Lancashire United bus two stops further along Blackburn Road (Pineapple). The driver charged me 40p, and when I questioned it he said: "It's 40p."
On arriving in town I inquired at the Lancashire United office, and was told that the present prices are under dispute.
Also, I asked why my ticket was for 40p. I said I boarded the bus in Bolton to alight at Oldhams Estate. To this I was told the driver mustn't have altered his machine. The only thing right on the ticket was the date -- 25.02.02. Are we to be sold back to front tickets?
Talk about being taken for a ride! Come on Lancashire United -- get it sorted.
