I REALLY feel sorry for children born today.

It makes me wonder what things are going to be like in 70 years time.

I am in my late 40s so I have, if I am lucky, only another 30 years or so to go. But can you imagine a child born today? What will the rates be on a terraced house or a semi? It's between £600 and £700 a year now in Bolton. If the rates went up £20 a year until that child is 70 that's £1400 to me and you -- just for the lower end of the scale!

What are the wages going to be like? That is, providing there are any jobs. Not forgetting the gas (if it's not run out) and the electricity bills.

How much will a loaf of bread be - £2 or £3?

What about car tax? Providing that there are any cars. If petrol runs out there won't be. Petrol can only last another 40 years or so as oil runs out.

What will that be a gallon £10. Car tax, if it goes up just £5 it will be £450 or so. Even the cost of parking, especially in Bolton, is going to be at least £15 an hour. Where will it all end?

I am just glad that I won't be around. But pity those who will be.
