SYLVIA Jackson is Britain's most glamorous grandmother -- and that is official.
But to her 20-year-old grandson, Warren Benton, Sylvia is, quite simply "my grandma and I love her to bits".
Warren has been supporting 61-year-old Sylvia's success in glamorous grandmother competitions since he was a tot.
The lucky, "moth-eaten" teddy given to her by Warren when he was tiny has accompanied Sylvia to many a competition.
And the teddy was with her when she was crowned "Glamorous Grandmother of Great Britain" at the Grand Hotel in Scarborough, a title she is justifiably proud of.
She beat off competition from 19 other women, from all over Great Britain, to land the prestigious title.
Sylvia, who has seven grandchildren ranging in age from Georgia, who is eight months old, to Warren, the eldest, said: "I couldn't stop crying when I won. The organisers said I'd have to stop crying because I was having some official photographs taken."
She returned to her Westby Grove home in Bolton with a cash prize, tiara, sash and cut-glass rose bowl.
Sylvia's love of taking part in glamorous grandmother competitions started when she was still very much a novice grandma at the age of 43.
As her "experience" as a grandma increased so did her success in competitions and she was thrilled to clinch top spot in her latest endeavour.
For the final of the competition, organised by the Grand Hotels organisation, she wore an attractive mink-coloured beaded long dress and bolero jacket.
She wowed the judges with her tremendous figure and looks that could easily enable Sylvia to pass for a woman at least 10 years younger.
Sylvia works hard to keep her shapely form, by exercising at a town centre gym and walking regularly with husband Norman.
She refuses to allow herself to sit back and relax and says her beloved grandchildren help to keep her young at heart.
