A 47-YEAR-OLD woman was taken to hospital after her car overturned on a snow covered road in Edgworth earlier today.
The driver was travelling along Bury Road towards Bolton when she hit an embankment and her red N reg 4x4 Mitsubishi Pajero flipped over.
The accident happened shortly after 7.30am and the vehicle completely blocked the Bolton bound carriageway.
The woman, from Darwen, was taken to the Blackburn Royal Infirmary with minor cuts and shock.
A police spokesman said: "The conditions were awful at the time of the accident.
"It had just started to snow and it looks like the woman lost control on the road."
There were several reports of minor accidents across the north side of Bolton.
The A675 Belmont Road was one of the worst affected by the snow fall.
