ONLY the Farnworth League games went ahead as a waterlogged Barlow Park meant that the Halliwell programme was cancelled.
Conditions were far from ideal, but Imago adapted well and beat Siddons by thirteen runs.
Champions Darcy had a nine-run win over Hanson who drop to third following Royal Hotel's comfortable victory over bottom side Carl Chapman.
In the remaining Section 'A' match, fourth placed Adlington played struggling Volunteer.
Adlington started the match with eight players against The Volunteer's nine, but two latecomers improved their chances of victory.
After one innings each, The Volunteer were ten runs ahead at 78-68. With the game close to its conclusion, Adlington's captain was resigned to defeat after some abysmal fielding by her own side, whilst her opposite number was congratulating her players for turning in an excellent performance.
Much to the surprise of everybody, however, when the scores were added up and checked, Adlington had scraped a four run win at 159-155.
Section 'B' leaders Tonge Fold XI had a very short game against A.S.A.P. who could only turn out six players and, not surprisingly, lost by an innings and 21 runs.
Second placed Mytham Ladies were without a game and stay two points behind the leaders with two games remaining and Bolton Motor Bodies moved up a place to third, thanks to their 13-run win over The White Horse.
The highest-scoring game of the morning, and one of the longest, was between Tonge Moor Conservative Club and Advance Computer Systems. Sadly the high scoring was due to both teams turning out just six players but despite the lack of numbers and poor conditions, all seemed to enjoy the experience, Tonge Moor winning by eight runs.
