ALEX Ferguson and Graham Taylor aren't the only people who have found it impossible to leave soccer alone.
Chris Waddle is further proof that once the game gets in your blood it is there for good.
And unlike Ferguson, who will be given £11m for the next three years, and Taylor, who will not be far behind in the financial stakes, money has nothing to do with it for Waddle.
In fact the 42-year-old former England international even paid to play for a pub side in the North Northumberland League. His 62 caps for England meant nothing to the scrappers in the Rothbury team when Waddle turned out for Belford FC.
Waddle paid his £2 subs, suffered the Rothbury changing rooms which had not hot water or showers and then went for a pint with the lads to talk about the goal he set up in front of a handful of spectators.
Now that's what football's all about.
