EXCUSE me for not climbing aboard the curling bandwagon but I happen to know that inside a week nobody will be able to remember the names of the girls, pictured above, who won Britain's solitary Olympic gold and curlers will once again just be something old ladies put in their hair.
I'm all for people getting credit where it's due and the Scottish girls deserved every accolade which came their way for a remarkable performance.
But how we got carried away. One story about how Scotland invented the sport 200 years ago but has never had success until now carried the headling "Curling's coming home".
I was waiting for the nation to break into song. "It's coming home, it's coming home, curling's coming home.
All together now: "Two hundred years of hurt, never stopped believing."
Lovely girls, enjoyable sport and great therapy for the stressed out. But let's not get carried away. It's only curling.
