LANCASHIRE Road Club's veteran pairing of Peter Graham & Tommy Longbottom set the club off to a good start for the 2002 season by winning an invitation two-up event.
The event turned out to be a one-horse race with the team beating all-comers, some teams including four members in a cycling quiz organised by Bury CTC.
Most of the questions seemed to be right up the LRC parings' street and they won the event by 50 clear points, receiving a shield and £10 fo their entry.
LRC club runs have continued throughout the winter months and will continue to do so as the new season fast approaches.
Club runners meet outside the Royal Oak on Tonge Moor Road at 9am on Sundays. Club runs are a good introduction to LRC and can be a first point of contact for anyone wishing to find out more about the club for either racing or social riding.
The next run will be to Goostrey on March 3, with a stop at the A50 cafe. Anyone wishing to join the run should turn up on the day with a roadbike and spare inner tube - just in case!
