THE end of the cyclocross season heralded the start of the presentation cermonies and Horwich Cycling Club turned out in force to collect their haul.
The Irish Heritage Centre in Manchester hosted this year's event, with the trophies handed over by Olympic bronze medallist Jon Clay.
In the Under 16s Horwich CC swept the board with Richard Sale in third place, Amy Hunt in second and Cal DiFalco in first place.
Dave Headon finished 13th, Denis Keaskin 12th, Andy Parry 8th and Mark Leyland 5th in the seniors while the trio of Keaskin, Parry and Leyland took the team prize for the most points scored this season by competing teams' top three riders.
In the women's section, Stephanie Dub easily finished as outright winner with wins from every north west event she took part in.
An excellent evening was had by all and a very successful season was reflected upon.
Horwich CC had a large presence in every north west event this season and a total of fifteen different riders from the club took part, leaving them a strong base to build on next season.
Cal DiFalco and Amy Hunt have been selected for the 'Start' program run by British Cycling. Both had to undergo physical tests at the Velodrome in Manchester to prove their ability and managed to satisfy the criteria for the initiative, which aims to groom talented youngsters into the stars of tomorrow.
