Fan's View by Steve Abbott: FOR me, away games have always had a certain magical quality that never exists at home.
That magnetism is entitled total-unpredictability.
Amazingly, most of our points have been gained on the road during Big Sam's stewardship, so you can never quite tell what type of performance your likely to see.
It was a little bit too obvious to suggest that both sides would set their stalls out not to lose right from the start, but sadly, that's exactly what happened. As in most thing's in life though, the game is what you make it and it is certainly one that I will never forget.
Snapping off the only ignition key we had in the side-door of the minibus at 4.30 in the morning with 16 lads waiting, doesn't tend to go down very well at all. Especially as most of the them were in fancy dress which included two nuns, a Happy Cavalier, a rather dodgy looking Viking and a Liam Gallagher impersonator. After a visit from a rather perplexed AA recovery man who naturally made a swift exit afterwards, we were on our way. I have to say Southampton's Park-and-Ride scheme, which is totally free including the bus travel to and from the ground, is an excellent idea and should be looked at by our club or least Bolton Council.
As for the game, Djorkaeff's debut did not have the same impact Tofting's had had against West Ham and he looked very lightweight for the cut-and-thrust of the Premiership.
It is ok saying that he needs more games under his belt but we only have 11 fixtures left. He is going to find-out very quickly that England will not tolerate fancy Dans of any nature, it's only talent, aggression and quick thinking that will pay off here.
Good luck to him, we need strong minds and bodies at this crucial time of the season with the club facing huge games we simply cannot afford to lose.
Man of the Match: Tofting
