SOME time ago a couple of your readers queried the cost to Bolton of the Commonwealth Games and Cllr Byrne assured us that there would be not cost to us.
Since then, it transpires that 24 town hall officials act as an advisory group and are on the Council payroll.
The BEN reported that the council is now laying on courses for 17 Darcy Lever residents -- again paid for by the Council -- no cost to us?
I have the horrible feeling that these games will cost us a great deal of money.
No other nearby authority seems to be interested -- only Bolton, as was pointed out by your correspondent.
