GRAEME Souness was today hoping to complete the formalities of the deal that would put Turkish international defender, Hakan Unsal on derby alert.
Rovers were given the green light from the Department of Employment to sign the Galatasaray full-back at a hearing in Sheffield yesterday.
But, having received a work permit, Souness was left anxiously awaiting international clearance for Unsal to be eligible to play at the Reebok tomorrow
Chief executive John Williams said: "The work permit has been granted and negotiations have been completed with both Galatasaray and the player himself.
"We now have to register Hakan with our own Football Association who will then seek international clearance from their Turkish counterparts. Only when that is done will he be eligible to play."
